The Goddess Art of Jonathon Earl Bowser.
The Goddess Art of Jonathon Earl Bowser.
How do I keep from filling up my link page about Jonathon alone? About ten years ago, he did a commissioned oil painting of me that still has people's mouth's dropping open when they visit my home. Since oil painting's do not photograph well, I will simply show you the sketch he did for my approval prior to beginning the oil painting. (and this was just one of about 5 he did to ensure I was happy).
The Goddess Art of Jonathon Earl Bowser.
Although the sketch is so beautiful on its own (and I have grown very very fond of it also), it doesn't hold justice to the oil painting he did for me. The oil painting is so rich, lifelike, and beautiful - just like all the women you see in his paintings. I was sold before - just looking at his art - I thought I'd give it a try as I'd always wanted a portrait painted, but never thought I'd be able to afford it, much less it be something I'd like - set in the woods with ivy creeping through my hair, but not only was it all that - he turned me into one of those beautiful creatures in his galleries. And it looked like me! It was so naturally beautiful and not forced and not rendered like something you would see out of a "typical" fantasy painting. I say typical, as I've seen a lot of them and know what I mean knowing that you might not. All I can say, is that I know a lot about that genre of art and knew that I didn't want it to be about fairies and wings and magical wands. That's fine and I like that for some things, just not for me and he nailed it. So I was enthralled after and even now I can't take his art in fast enough and will probably get another commission done in the next year. This was a shoulder shot up and the next will be a full body commssion. It is not a vanity thing, it transcends something that I can't explain that he can capture. Now, I have to stop, or I will never get to any other person on my links. All I can say is go to his webpage and buy a print, catalog, or his Lotus Maiden book (296 pgs., 200+ illus., full col., 8.5" x 11", coil-bound - a collection of artworks and companion essays examining the nature and philosophy of Goddess Mythology in the Age of Science.. - he'll write or even draw something for you on the dedication page) or even get your own commission done! You'll find that info on his "how to make a purchase" link. And no, you don't have to go to the middle of the Canadian mountains to do that. Remember, I live in the Deep South, where time has virtually stopped and contact with the outside world (for the best or worst, according to who you ask) didn't start until the internet age.

All I did was send him a picture. And it was a HORRIBLE small blurry picture compared to today's standards and he produced a masterpiece. But if "goddess art" isn't your thing, check out his beautiful landscapes. You won't find better. Hands down, the best artist I've seen. And I've met my share. Just clicky click and visit". But don't spend all your money. Save some for us. We need to eat too. We don't grow ALL our vegetables, as some of you may think, we do like pineapple although we eat it on sandwiches Just ask Paula Dean :)
